Areas of Service
The following is a list of service areas and brief descriptions for you to consider. Please refer to this when completing your Volunteer Staff Application. Volunteers must be at least 17 years of age, except where noted.
- Access Control (21 and older): Secure back gates and pass-required entry points. Strong personality required.
- Air 1 Stage Security (21 and older): Help maintain order and proper conduct during performances. Help keep aisles clear and the general public from restricted areas. Air 1 Stage Security works double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Accounting: Account for all funds incoming and outgoing. Banking or finance experience required.
- Admissions: Secure entry gates, check wristbands. Serve as guides for the general public.
- Artist Merch. Sales -FULL-: Help sell artist and speaker merchandise. Experience in handling cash and credit card transactions is beneficial.
- Camping Helper / Camping Management: Help set-up and keep tent and RV camping areas organized. Management should be available from Tuesday evening (July 29) through Sunday morning (Aug.3). Managers work double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Children's Ministry (15 and older)-FULL-: Assist in various children's activities at Camp Zacchaeus including crafts, entering and exiting the petting zoo, etc.
- Concessions/SWC Booth: Help sell SWC merchandise, general store supplies, ice, etc. Experience in handling cash transactions is beneficial.
- Construction & Electrical: Help with installation, repairs, etc. Experience in carpentry, electrical wiring and plumbing is desirable. Electricians are especially needed. Construction & Electrical works double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Custodial : General clean up of festival grounds, trash collection, restroom upkeep, etc. Be a real servant and volunteer in this area!
- Electrical (Pre-Event): Work on the team that provides the "juice" to make the festival run. Electrical experience preferred, but we also need some "helpers." Must be available starting Mon., July 28, through Thurs., July 31, for setting up for the festival, or Sun., Aug. 3 - Tues., Aug. 5, for teardown. Double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Electrical (Event & Post): Must be available during the event and on Sunday, Aug. 3, and Tuesday, Aug. 4, for teardown. Double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Food Service -FULL-: Prepare and serve meals to SWC leadership personnel. Clean up kitchen.
- General Store-FULL-: Assist in the SWC store with selling and stocking merchandise. Experience in handling cash transactions is beneficial.
- Golf Cart Management / Maintenance : Work as part of the Property Maintenance Department but also responsible for checking in and out golf carts before and at end of festival. Must be available beginning Wed., July 30, and through mid-day on Sun., Aug. 3. Looking for someone who has mechanical knowledge to also be on this team. This person would be doing repair to carts as needed. This person would work "on call" during the event and be kept busy on and off all event.
- Ice/Water: Assist in sales and distribution of water and ice to vendors and SWC booths.
- Information Technology-FULL-: Don't let "IT" fool you. We need network techs/engineers, wireless engineers, web architects, PC techs, and more! We'll be setting up a monster wi-fi network and need your help getting all the gear setup, deployed, and talking to each other flawlessly. Candidates should be available pre and/or post festival as well as during festival. Many more details are available at http://www.xyden.com/swc.
Information Technology works double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Interpreter (Deaf Ministry): Signing during performances of the bands and speakers at various stages.
- Medical: Doctors, nurses, paramedics, and certified EMTs to help at first aid stations.
- Ministry: Experience in leading others to Christ and praying with them as well as dealing with various spiritual needs.
- Production / Technical : Loading-in and loading-out the sound and lights, musical equipment, etc. and helping with on-stage set-changes. Experience required. Double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Property Maintenance : Provide help in setting up the festival beginning the Monday prior to the event if available. Work on maintaining all different types of areas of the festival grounds. Work includes banner frame building and hanging, fencing areas, laying astro turf, etc. Handyman-type individuals needed for this area.
- Public Relations -FULL- : Answer questions, help in Lost & Found, sometimes with children. A friendly, outgoing personality is important.
- Security : Provide general 24-hour security of the grounds. A great place for peace officers to serve. Especially needed are overnight personnel (must be over 21). Security works double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Signs: Design, construct and install information signs on the festival grounds. Experience not necessary. Sign Department volunteers must work beginning the Monday (July 28) prior to the festival and work the Sunday (Aug. 3) after the festival. Volunteers do not have any work during the event and can enjoy the festival.
- Sports & Recreation (15 and older)-FULL-: Manage sports areas and activities (basketball, volleyball, etc.)
- SWC Booth: See "Concessions".
- Traffic & Parking: Help with the direction of traffic, the parking of vehicles and general traffic safety.
- Transportation / Drivers: Transportation staff will transport key personnel to and from the airport, hotels, etc. All transportation staff must be 25 years of age or older for insurance purposes and have a clean driving record. In some cases volunteer staff will be driving their own vehicles (primarily vans) and must have their own (active) insurance in addition to festival insurance. Transportation works double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Ushers: Serve as ushers at performances, assist with Lost & Found. A good problem solver and experience in working with the public is desired.
- Video Tech: Be part of the Image Magnification Team. Experienced cameramen and tech directors only. Double shifts (9 hrs each day).
- Water / Showers: Help establish and maintain shower facilities and drinking water supplies.
